Helping Ensure Water Purity & Quality

Quality Management System Diagram

Creekside Springs’ spring water comes straight from our propriety, protected natural springs, located on lands adjacent to our Ohio facility. Our fresh spring water has never been treated with any harsh chemicals or additives and is delicious, refreshing, and free of impurities. Every glass meets the strict requirements of the Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. For specific regulations at the Federal and State level, refer to our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section.

Routine testing makes the Creekside Springs difference. We have adopted comprehensive Quality Manufacturing Standards in the bottled water industry to ensure that all our products meet the consumer's standards. We also adhere to the industry standards established by the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) including sanitary protocols of the National Sanitary Foundation (NSF).

Creekside has been a continuing recipient of the IBWA – Excellence in Manufacturing Award since 2006. This certificate is awarded bottlers who have met or exceeded the provisions of the Food and Drug Administration’s Good Manufacturing Practices, the Principles of HACCP , and the Codex Alimentarius HACCP. It is awarded annually to the top 20% of IBWA bottlers based on independent third party audit.

Creekside utilizes the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) approach for food safety. This approach was adopted by the IBWA in 2002 and annual audits of Creekside include a review of our HACCP program as well as GMP compliance. Creekside’s and the IBWA’s voluntary implementation of HACCP in the bottled water industry is based partially on the HACCP regulatory requirements set by the Codex Alimentarius Commission and the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and FDA.

In recent years, retailers adopted Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards.  In the U.S., the primary codification is SQF.  SQF consists of three levels with the highest level being Level 3, a level that includes a Quality Management System (QMS).

Creekside Springs was the second bottler in the U.S. to be certified by SQF. All Creekside Springs facilities are certified at Level 3 which is necessary for distribution of product by national chains and retailers.

Our QualityCreekside annually embarks upon a complete review of its Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Coupled with this evaluation of our operations, we commenced the implementation of procedures and protocols dictated by the facets of SQF and ISO 9001:2000.

During 2007, Creekside established, documented, and implemented a Quality Management System (QMS) that is continuously evaluated for potential process improvements in accordance with the requirements of SQF and ISO 9001:2000. Through our quality management system we:

  • Identify the processes needed for the quality management system and their application throughout the Company
  • Identify the sequence and the interaction between these processes
  • Determine the criteria and methods to ensure that the operation and control of our processes are effective
  • Ensure the availability of resources and information necessary to support the operation and monitoring of these processes
  • Monitor, measure, and analyze these processes
  • Implement actions necessary to achieve planned results and continual improvement of these processes

These processes are managed in accordance with the requirements of SQF and ISO 9001:2000.

Creekside has implemented a quality management system that is continuously maintained for effectiveness and improvement opportunities in accordance with the requirements of SQF and ISO 9001:2000. Customer, statutory or regulatory requirements are communicated to the organization to assure customer satisfaction.

Through the Quality Policy and other established quality objectives, top management of Creekside is committed to continually improve our processes and the effectiveness of the quality management system.

Regular management reviews are conducted to evaluate the quality management system and ensure the availability of appropriate resources.
